Whispering Pines Lodge

We had a wonderful stay at Whispering Pines. From the moment we booked in to moment we left we enjoyed everything about this place. The lady who booked us in was friendly and very helpful. The room was lovely with an old cottage feel but with everything you need. Fridge, microwave etc. The layout is a little quirky but that just added to the fun. The room was clean , warm and had a imitation log fire which I thought added great ambience to the room plus an AC and Heater combined unit for added comfort. Views from are balcony were spectacular and there is a nice pool if you are there in summer or very hardy in winter lol. Plenty of parking with no charge and easy access. I had a problem as I did not know how to use the TV and someone was there to guide me in 10 mins even though the office was closed. The grounds are beautiful, they are laid out in a simpathetic rural way and you can walk right down to the river. Local amenities are great, huge local store with everything you can imagine from hot food to camping equipment. Local bars restaurants even a brewery were in a short distance. I highly recommend this place as even the cleaning crew were friendly helpful and happy to see us. Support this family run motel Regards Steve

One of the best Hotel experiences ever for my lady and I. Great location near the Kern River. Some rooms even have a river view! Extremely friendly staff, dog friendly and reasonable pricing. The fee is just 15.00 to have your dog stay with you. Clean bedding, Tempurpedic bed, full mini kitchen including oven. If you appreciate nature, you will love this place.

I stay here often for work and it always makes leaving home easier knowing I’ll be here. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I can always count on the generous amenities every time I stay: a cozy bed, a clean room, coffee maker, ice machine… even a bath to wind down after a long day in the field. This was the best stay we've had in Kernville. We will definitely be returning! We had the king bed with the river view room and it was amazing! The shower and tub worked great, nice hot water. The bed was very comfortable and you can't beat the view. We woke up to snowy mountains and had coffee on the balcony. It was a wonderful little getaway!

Amazing accommodation! The view is stunning, the rooms are comfortable and well equipped. Our other accommodation was canceled and we ended up booking this last minute but it was a blessing because this place was great! Would recommend when going from Sequoia to the Death Valley

Our stay at this beautiful lodge was absolutely amazing! The service was excellent, every staff member we interacted with was kind, welcoming, and truly went out of their way to make us feel at home. The location is stunning, surrounded by an abundance of nature that made it the perfect getaway. Our room had a lovely balcony overlooking the river, waking up to that view each morning was unforgettable. There were also peaceful trails leading down to the river and a charming nearby town with plenty of great food options. My family and I left feeling refreshed and already can’t wait to come back!

Quite perfectly placed equidistant between death valley and Sequoia National Park. The room was not only spacious and clean, but had amazing gardens and grounds to admire from the back deck of each individual room. The owner was courteous and a delight to work with.

Hi everyone, if you're looking for a place to stay on the river in kernville this lodge has rooms overlooking the river and has river access. I stayed here with my now fiancé. We stayed here on our 10 anniversary this year in January. We called and had the pleasure of talking to Cici while booking and we booked a room overlooking the river. She was very nice. While we talked to her she discovered we were spending our anniversary there and she was very happy to hear that we chose their lodge to spend our special date there. Day of, upon arrival we were surprised to find Cici had upgraded us to their "best view" and left us "a romantic package" in the room, (room108). The room was spacious, clean, it looked nice and the heater was warm! We were very happy to stay here the owner was very kind, thoughtful and we will definitely be coming back! The staff was very nice, seemed to be all women. The groundskeeper caught us as we were leaving and gave us some water bottles for the road. The lodge is very close to the brewery, Market and Ewings, which we also recommend. Also a 2 minute drive or 7 minute walk to the kernville center. BONUS: the outside lights are fitted with light bulbs that emit yellow light which bugs can't see. The patios are great for stargazing. Thank you very much ladies for a memorable anniversary
